How long has it been? Since you opened the Word? Since you spent more than 5 minutes in prayer? Since you sense the Holy Spirit speaking to you?

That's too long! I encourage each of you to create a time and place where you have no distractions. You know, like it is at camp. Create an environment without distractions so that you can hear from God.

"So I tell you this, and insist on it, in the Lord, that you must no longer live as Gentiles do in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity they have given themselves over to sensualtiy so as to indulge every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more. You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousnessand holiness." Ephesians 4:17-24

School

I am praying for each of you as you start school this week. I pray that you will allow God the opportunity to teach you as you choose to follow Him. Make every effort to be Jesus to one another! Demonstrate His love, His passion, His mercy, His grace, His forgiveness and His kindness toward others.

Let's all remember to pray for Kallan and his family. Their flight leaves at 6:00 a.m. in the morning for Guatemala.

I can't seem to comment on the post. Lauren and I will work that out.

The Bible says that the world will hate us because they hated Jesus. Darkness doesn't like light. We are (should be) different from the world. If we are living as a believer should then we will not watch what they watch, will not listen to what they listen to, will not speak how they speak, etc. Therefore, because we are not LIKE them, they will not like us.

Why should we expect for the world to hate us?

Just want you guys to know how blessed I feel to spend time with you on Sunday mornings. I was asked to teach another class for the coming year but I wanted to be a part of what I really think is going to be something special this year. Plus I love teaching with Michelle and seeing
her insight and passion. Love you guys.
